Times article, Burnley/Leeds threaten to sue Everton

I feel that there always has been a feeling against us from back in the early 60's ands 70's when we slated as the millionaires club because we were winning things.
There was a period of little until HK took over and were back there as the rich club. There has in my view always been that towards our club especially Burnley who we were buying players from.

It really boiled over this season with us now having a billionaire owner, new stadium being built, attitude being that bl**dy Everton again. So with this being a disastrous season for us there was that faction who just want to see us fall but we escaped. They are still trying to do for us hence this action claiming we have broken the FFP rules and want us punished, and for them for us to be pushed down. Who knows what the outcome will be, the sheer fact is Burnley who have been leading this have not earned the points needed to survive but for them this is not the case but we have cheated by breaking the rules. In reality they had no money to be able to break the rules.

So look Guys leave it that, and trust these miserable buggars get kicked out.

I know what the outcome will be, we won’t get a points deduction and go down.

Mate, I am a bed wetter of the highest order, but you can’t just Harry Potter the Premier league. The season has finished, the PL cannot now just turn around and announce “20 points to gryffindor” and now Everton are relegated, especially since they have been working with us for a year, and have already signed off on our accounts, finding no breach of P+L. Any grievance is now between Burnley and the league. There will have to be lots of meetings and letters back and forth, it will take months. The most that will happen immediately is that the league will explain to Burnley how we have not breached, and things will go from there.

Poor Burnley have been expelliarmus'ed out of the league though

I see Martyn “Leeds Graduate” Ziegler in the Times is still running with this this morning. Like a dog with a bone that fella.

Listening on TalkSport now (I know I know), and Simon Jordan (I know I know) is basically saying Everton would have had all this agreed and cleared with the PL and external auditors (which we all know), and it would all have been signed off, so doesn’t think there’ll be any problems.

TalkSport really running with this, this morning like it's on the front and back pages of every paper.
Simon Jordan speaking sense though saying that whilst Everton have clearly taken advantage of the situation and no doubt pushed it to the limits, the Premierleague and their auditors will have had our accounts with plenty of time to go through it, question our maths and challenge it if they saw fit and the fact they haven't means, should we be suddenly found guilty of cheating and the Premierleague charge us with some sort of sanction - that puts the integrity of all accounts for all clubs signed off by the PL in question.
Burnley are in serious financial trouble and they are desperately trying anything to limit the damage.

Make you wonder what is their agenda, doesn't it.

Hi, this is Randy from the Burnley franchise.

Hi buddy, heard you boys got busted down to the minors. Sucks to that hey?

Yeah, now what about this can of whoop ass we were gonna open on the premier league?

Well turns out it's actually a whole can of worms and well you dont wanna open one of those.

But you said Leeds would back the in-dee-pend-ent commishun.

Look we'll leave you a couple of tickets in the front office. Catch the red eye from Burnley next season and take a game in.

Aw nuts.

Listen, you'll get first draft pick, you'll be fine. Gotta go.

Wait up... Leeds? Anyone? Aww nuts.

If Burnley opened a can of worms Shaun Dyche would eat them

Yes, they are in financial trouble, but they shouldn’t be trying to cause damage to others for their own mistakes. Makes me feel less bothered about them.

Poor Randy, he probably doesn't understand the concept of relegation.

Explain to him buying Burnley was a bit like buying a sub prime mortgage then suing Wall Street when your investment turned out to be garbage, only to find yourself on Skid Row for the foreseeable future.

They're looking for a few million top up on the parachute payment.

That's all this ever was...or could be.
That and it was a nice little method of deflecting the blame and justifying their failures to their own fans. Its easier for them to sell them a totally BS story of them being a victim of some great injustice that they're trying to fight then it is for them to just be honest and admit that they've gone down because they where one of the three worst teams in a truly dreadful league.
