That and it was a nice little method of deflecting the blame and justifying their failures to their own fans. Its easier for them to sell them a totally BS story of them being a victim of some great injustice that they're trying to fight then it is for them to just be honest and admit that they've gone down because they where one of the three worst teams in a truly dreadful league.
It was Everton that forced them to sell Woods in January. :coffee:

I don't think anything will come about this. But our finances are a concern.

They'll hit us with something if we keep the shenanigans up.

Yeah I think we're on a short leash now

That being said, we've been pretty up front about stuff it seems so they seem comfortable making allowances for us

We have to make sure not to take the urine with them going forwards

Thats the thing Mikey, you try and outfox any regulator, they will go after you. You fess up, and work with them to find a solution, different gravy. The PL no doubt thought some of the allowances we suggested were at the questionable end of being credible, but ultimately, agreed to them being legit. Just.

And like you say, we have been told to go to our room and think about what you did.

He was a player that suited Burnley`s style of play and Burnley suited his style of play - lump it up to the grock.

Woods was their main outlet and scored a good few goals for them.

Selling him ( imo ) played a big part in their relegation, as the Dutch lad they replaced him with, is a much inferior grock than Woods and scored once ( I think )

That`s on them, just like the shady loan against the ground they took out and now have to repay.
