Anyone else suffer with it, had it for about 5 weeks now and it's driving me nuts, made a few lifestyle changes but it's not going anywhere so it's probably a trip to the Dr's. I know there is no real cure for it and I don't think I'm losing my hearing it's one of the few things in me that is actually pretty razor sharp normally, just this ringing in my ears is so hard to block out at times.
Have it on my left side, the noise is like wind blowing up an alleyway.Only bothers me at night.Woke up one morning with it 6 years ago.

Same for me. Had it about 20 years. Hasn't had an effect on my hearing I don't think. When it initially started I got really anxious about it but now I forget it's there most of the time.
You're lucky. Mom struggles to hear me over it. She is giga loud (and that's an uncomfortable story) by nature, and I have one of those voices that crowds devour.

I more or less have to shout to be heard. It's like talking to David Lynch with the ear trumpet in Twin Peaks, and I get how that character would be absolutely taken with someone he could hear.

Had it quite bad a couple years ago, went to a Dr and he wanted me to have an MRI. Nothing showed up and eventually it went away by itself, though still returns from time to time for a couple minutes.

I have it in one ear, it's normally related to a bit of deafness and it's thought the brain tries to compensate for the lack of sound by making some up to compensate.

It's worth getting it checked out by your GP though, because there may be a physical issue somewhere which could be fixed. Eventually, once you know it's very unlikely to be down to something nasty, you learn to live with it.

Do you live opposite a church ? Joking - No it's bad the GPs surgeries now have stopp carrying out ear syringing it has to be done at the hospital- they have modern suction techniques now - that may help - my son suffers terrible with tinnitus- anti - biotics are only a temporary fix ...
Specsavers and a lot of other opticians now offer micro suction. Syringing ears isn’t the go to method anymore.

I effed up big style last year. I'm usually very good with ear defenders but this time I just thought, oh it'll be ok..

Drilled some holes in the side of the house to fix a new gate post. Hammer drill. Bricks. Side passage. Noise reverberating.

Had ringing in my ears since. I hate it so much. But there's nothing that you can do.. it doesn't affect me sleeping thankfully..

I'm so so pissed off with myself. The missus works in hearing and says it could disappear suddenly one day, or is there for life. It's all in the brain apparently..
