There's a good mythbusters episode on what happens, though they went to a bit less pressure, and still Buster was turned to paste within about 1 sec.

At least it was a quick one... I guess?

It likely will get expensive, with the big question at any time being whether any money is left. Plaintiff's attorneys in civil suits have a way of becoming disinterested once deep pockets cease being deep.

A man who's ego and desire to be respected over-rode his own instinct for self preservation and the lives of his 'passengers'

You'd have to taser & restrain me to even get me on one of the proper rated submersibles, never mind his death trap and this fool was heading down time after time knowing full well the thing could implode at any time.

Agreed. Even the video of the reporter sitting in the sub while it was on land gave me mild claustrophobia. Have no desire to go into a sub of any size, personally.
