I think it's safe to assume we're going to have to subsidise his wages either by reducing any fee or giving him a golden handshake. Surely the best solution is for him to go back to Ajax in a swap deal here?

Sheedy was always the first to say that not many player swaps get done these days but hopefully this could be an exception.
The club are going to have to get creative to make this happen, i do agree it should,nt be beyond them given your examples.

I really feel (maybe wrongly) that heitinga would rather play first team football and make it to the wc in Brazil than waste a season on the bench at Everton only to go get a bumper contract somewhere next season.

this is what makes me fume. Johnny just wants to get the dough...he doesnt seem to be arzed about Brazil at all. He has lost his passion imo. Throw him into reserves and maybe he will be ok for wages cut to eaze the departure

Pretty sure Ajax have already signed his replacement. Also pretty sure JH feels he has another "well paid" move in him before going back to Ajax. Just don't think it's a easy transfer JH, the fee we'll want, the fee clubs will want to pay, and the wages JH will want. Lots of give and take needed by all parties. Can't see a swap deal tho..

Not really in this case mate. We have 6 CB at the moment inc Duffy and stones. Simple maths suggest 7 is too many. One or 2 will have to go. I'd say heitinga perm and Duffy loan.
