I consider both of these greater achievements than what Pellegrini has ever done.

Sure, those things, won a league title, excellent record in the transfer market.
By and large City and Real Madrid, at those respective times, do not and did not appoint managers that were not World Class. They challenged for all the top honours.
And yet they went for Pellegrini who had won precisely nothing. Zero. Why? Surely they recognised achievements that you’re not seeing now.

Absolutely creased at this. He left City in an absolute state, no full backs under the age of 32, no keeper that could save a shot, one centre forward on the books in Aguero, lumbered with absolute dross like Mangala, Demichelis, Jesus Navas, Negredo, Fernando. Bought Sterling and De Bruyne for £100m and still managed to scrape 4th on goal difference.
