It's honestly not just because it's them being gifted the league due to corruption. If this was happening with any other team or in any other league, I'd be just as disgusted with it.

Liverpool are a very good side, they'd have had a great chance at the title regardless this season. It could have been a real tussle. But instead we have this farce with the game barely resembling football.

They arent winning the league comfortably because of VAR, they are wining it because they are the best team in world football by some distance. There is no conspiracy, just a flawed VAR system and them having the devils luck that they have always had.

They’ve had the big calls for their way in every game this season. Not a single one has gone against them. They could have been 1 down against City and down to ten men but instead ended up 1 up, they would have been 2-2 against us and maybe down to ten, but the pen isn’t given, the Palace goal not given, now this in the Wolves game, the Mane dives all given as pens. Goals change games, momentum changes, results impact seasons but when you’re going through games and you make errors but they’re never punished then you claw out a win you don’t deserve the momentum just builds and builds.

It's not though.

The whole basis for the offside rule is to stop an attacking player from gaining an advantage.

A millimetre of a toe, shoulder, nose, hair is not gaining any advantage whatsoever.

it’s consistent though, it’s the only thing that has been so that call was right whether we like or not. I don’t know how a toe or finger gives someone an advantage and yes, it’s ridiculous, but it’s been consistent throughout the year

so again, the call was correct

Stop the cry arsing Dave, thestop it when the ball is struck. It’s happened to the RS at Villa, City at the start of the season, Zaha yesterday and the big toe incident for sheff utd a couple of weeks back

It isn't offside though. The hand/arm doesn't count, it's the nearest part of the body that can legally play a ball that counts.

With that resolution, there's no way you can reliably rule that out via technology. There has to be an inconclusive option where the decision on the pitch stands, but they can't have that as it doesn't allow officials to rig the game with 'tight' calls.

They are applying it in the most scientific way they can which isn’t in the spirit of the game.

Like, in the spirit of the game, Pukki, Zaha and that goal then would all have stood. But they were ruled out. I remember similarly tight ones for Sheffield United at Spurs and Firmino at Villa being ruled out earlier in the season too. All marginal and it’s annoying, I don’t think any Football fan supports it, but it is absolutely consistent if nothing else.

Either set of fans wouldn't be bothered if a player is a millimetre of a toe "offside" and scored.

They've set a precedent now that they can't reverse.
