Today’s Football 2019/20 Season

Apart from Liverpool, none of the teams left in the competition are having a stellar year domestically, so (at least this year) I don't think it's the PL being overrated.

However, Liverpool's CL win rate is 57% this year, which means their domestic success isn't translating to success in Europe.

The PL is extremely weak this season. The fact an Everton team with it's first choice midfield missing almost the whole season, can be 5 points off 4th sums it up.
A conglomerate of mediocrity.

So Barcelona get to sign a player outside the window because Dembele who hasn’t been that good and is far from pivotal in that side gets a long term injury.

They sign Braithwaite from Leganes who are in a relegation scrap and have now lost their top scorer. La Liga then turn round and say they won’t grant Leganes an emergency transfer.

And we say our league is run by the top clubs...

They lost four games out of 13 on the way to winning it last season, and Tottenham shouldn't have even got out of their group.

City aside, watching the English teams now is starting to look like the late '90s/early '00s again, where you'd see them being outclassed by someone sitting third or fourth in Spain or Italy.

The Premier League is nothing but tempo and aggression at the moment, which is probably why every game here is rife with embarrassing touches/passing and slapstick defending.

This could just be my biased anger showing as a result of their non-defence of the title, but they're incredibly unprofessional at times.

Most of the games that they draw/lose, they could have blasted the opposition out of sight in the first 20 minutes, but instead they toy with them until eventually something goes wrong (e.g. Zinchenko's sending off last week) and the other team gets a foothold.

When they're at it, they play the best football I've ever seen outside of Guardiola's Barcelona, but I think that a good number of those players need to be moved on now.

This is a rule that has been in place in La Liga and other leagues across Europe for a long time.

Barca aren’t the only team to use this rule this season in Spain.

He hasn’t been good because of injuries

Blame the rule

Leganes' SD, Martín Ortega: "Barca have acted in correct manner. They contacted us Monday, and only option was to pay clause. We cannot hold it against them as they used the rules which currently exist. But we don't think rules are fair."

That's shameful

David Silva should be first to go <hides>
