they said from the outset that it is completely subjective, they then came up with a points system which was agreed by all the people involved in the programme i.e. 5 points for the biggest european trophy, 4 points for league trophy etc.
they then pointed out that some clubs had great moments, gary neville even said what leicester achieved is probably the greatest achievement in football history but he said that sustained success over a long period of time is what makes the great teams so they decided that the criteria had to be a team that had achieved sustained success over a 3 year period

Cheers but I couldn't watch the show as sky is for those who can afford it .... or those who without conscience have been happy to destroy football as a sport. Nothing personal mate, but I feel this very strongly about sky ever since it started.and foresaw that the current corrupt pantomime would be the outcome of everybody's money ending up in it.
Interestingly though you've backed up what I said 8n a way. Neville WOULD argue for sustained success, wouldn't he. Those obsessed by the runners up pots WOUKD argue that they should have more points etc.
To me the best side is the side that in their pomp would beat any of the other sides - no biased opinions just 5he game. Oh for a time machine and a 1970s referee.

I would suggest that the beginning of the end was after that Title win and bad decision making afterwards, on and off the pitch after Howie resigning.
