According to reports the Newcastle take over by Saudi sovereign wealth fund Public Investments of Saudi Arabia is apparently a step closer. The premier league have now been informed of their intention to buy the club with the potential new owners, the largest sovereign wealth fund in the world, registering their interest with the league.

We've heard it all before so a healthy scepticism is virtually impossible to overcome and many will think it's just another step nearer failure rather than takeover.

Apparently it's understood the approach to the premier league was made several days ago and it may take over a month for the premier league, which has other far more important and pressing coronavirus issues to deal with, to conduct checks to see if the funding is in place and the potential owners pass the owners and directors test.

However even if the deal is agreed and goes through no announcement is expected for some time due to the current national crisis and the time likely to elapse before such progress can be made.

Came here for some top quality Jack Grealish banter and this is what I find. Shame on you Toffees, shame on you!

Just don't think people really care about him. Lightweight footballer overhyped as per usual by the English sports media who does nothing in big games and clearly has a severe attitude problem.

Part of the selling point for the wider world of sport was that West Ham would allow the athletics to keep taking place

If they refuse then it will be the final spit in the face from the club

Should have given it to Orient!

Nah, what, just read that statement from the PFA. How effing greedy are PL players?

Got the easiest and most fun job in the world and still haggling over giving something back. Absolute nobs.

I dont understand the tax argument. It sounds like a convenient excuse. They are taxed at 45% on the 30% they are being asked to give up. But if they take the pay cut then they can give 100% of the 30% to good causes.

They could help pay other staff members and give to the health services far more than they would under income tax.

Obv I’m sure some players will take it upon themselves to help pay some staff but the cheek of them doing it through the PFA.

See this nob? Yeh pretty sure even on a 30% cut you can afford the mortgage and a trip to ASDA pal.

Football isn't real life. The wages are obscene and money is the driving motivator for most players.

I think it's best to just accept this or it sucks the joy out of watching the game.
