I was wrong it was a 6.5 month lay off not 5. But he is finished because he wasn't Pele in his first game back.

Modern football fans LOL.

Kanes a victim of his own success. He was world class for 3 years, and hes a little off that now.

I think he will have to change his game a bit, and maybe Spurs have to adapt a bit as well, and as you say he may need a bit of time to get some fitness back.

Because most of our harder games are at "home" and we will have most of our squad available.
Not have Moura, Tanganga or Dele available tonight showed.

Fair point. So essentially players returning is a big factor?

I mean I thought Spurs were ok tonight, considering the media narrative was United would just steamroller you. Neither wide stood out to me, but I sense barring Liverpool and City no side will.

He is - but whenever anyone criticises Kean you are instantly told that you cant judge based on age which is true to an extent however you can not excuse some of the performances he has put in and claim its solely down to age when you see players like Greenwood and Martinelli who are younger but have put in better performances throughout the season.
My frustration with Kean is I can see there’s more to come from him, and I just want to see it from him - used to watch a load of the italian league when I first moved to Liverpool and had no mates and he was decent! lol

How is that dolt Moss still a referee in this league? Almost gifted that to United with a 'foul' that was no different to the one we got against us at Brighton, unlike us though Spurs had VAR on their side to spare their total collapse

Martinelli is a sweet and refreshing player.

I can't believe I have to watch another 8 of those just so the RS can be awarded the title. Honestly, I'd rather watch Sweeney re-runs.

No crowds, VAR, drinks breaks, a minute's silence or applause at every game, the politicalisation of football etc etc etc.

Absolute waste of time.
Plus they seem to be doing all possible to get MU into the next euro comps.
Robbed Sheffield of 3 points the other day and then gifted the mancs a point yesterday.

I'll play devils here, as alot of their goals have come in the EL, which Kean would have likely got a lot more exposure in, in a like for like comparison.
But Martinelli has 3 goals 0 assists in 657 PL minutes. Kean has 1 goal and 2 assists in abut 700 minutes. Greenwood has 5 goals 0 assists in 600 minutes.

Greenwood's record is certainly superior, and Martinelli to a degree too, but they are not absolutely worlds apart in the way some in the media portray. If we can keep Kean focussed I've seen enough from him to suggest he can kick on next season.

One thing that surprised me yesterday was Mourinho made a substitution on the drinks break. Spurs were hanging in a bit and tired and I thought someone with his experience would have waited, if only 2-3 minutes just to break the play up a bit more.

I think you will see a lot more of that as well. Coaches maybe doing 3 subs on say 60 as they do to delay, getting to the drinks break, then putting 2 more breaks in in the last 20 just to slow momentum. Sounds like poor move, but can definitely see it.

Im not just talking goals mate Im talking all round performances.

I've seen nothing from the lad to make me think he'll be a success in English football - half the time he looks like an amateur league player has been given the nod.

It's funny really, how people can watch the same player and get a different feel. I must admit I don't forensically watch football in the way I did 5 years ago. I don't see anywhere near as much of even out games than I did previously, so it's a skewed opinion. I like the guy though, I think he does certain things that only top players do (the spin and shot v Watford, the attempt at Leicester etc). I would say application is a big question, and we have a big challenge on our hands to keep him focussed.

He needs to calm down his playstyle on the pitch but since he's 20 I'm very confident this will come.

I think we should give him time mate. Greenwood's at the club where he's grown up and knows his surroundings and team mates, in his home town etc. Kean moved to a different country and is adapting to a new style of football. Kean's record at Juve was not dissimilar to Greenwood's to be fair. Not saying he'll deffo make it but not a cop out to give him more time IMO

Edit: just remembered it's not Greenwood's home town but he has been there since being a kid i think.
