Today’s Football 2019/20 Season

A team like Man U need to be able to overcome decisions like that if they're to be genuinely competitive, and generally have had a fair amount of favour from refs most of the time this season. It's a bit like Arsenal fans crying over Nketiah being sent off against Leicester while Vardy wasn't, the "if only" argument that shouldn't be used to gloss over a not-great performance. Maybe the more important question is why players like Fernandes, Pogba and Greenwood weren't at their best last night?

I'm also not sure how much of their progress is down to the manager. They were dreadful before spending big on a Rolls Royce creative player who turned their season around, something other clubs apart from the very richest really aren't able to do. Their forwards seem to have a lot more chemistry now but I'm still not sure they're ready for the big time in a tactical sense.

I was actually talking about the decision itself, the VAR official shouldn't be thinking United have had a fair bit go for them this season so it's only fair if I ignore this legbreaker, it was disgraceful decision.

I agree United's defensive frailties are self evident and they may have to wait some time to be competitive at the very top of the league. Nevertheless it's possibly churlish to deny the fact they're now a force going forward and moving in the right direction. I would certainly put then in that second tier of teams below Liverpool and City, and strengthening that central defence now seems to be their main target before next season.

Good players change teams, quality, great players transform them. United have spent billions on rubbish or top players who haven't produced, with huge fees over several seasons they've proved you can have plenty of money and still go backwards. So many good players have been the wrong fit for United that now they've got one who hasn't floundered and nosedived it seems particularly mean spirited to not give the manager any credit at all for creating the right environment where he can flourish.

I'm no United fan, just the opposite but trying to be objective as so many before Solskjaer have failed abysmally and he himself has had such a rollercoaster ride amidst a daily avalanche of media criticism that the minute he looks like turning things around, the critics change their tune to its nothing to do with him.

...they’ve done surprisingly well have Brentford. I always think sides who have a stand-out season are worth a look at because they often have a really talented individual. Saying that, I don’t mind The Baggies, they always look a little better than most teams in the Championship.

Wigan 3-0 up, Kieran Dowell.

I should know the answer to this but when is Wigan's points deduction applied? Last time I had a glimpse, if done this season, they would go down and Hull stay up.
Having said that Hull deserve relegation they're abysmal thanks to their directors and owner. I expect that they will be a team themselves facing administration. Just told by local BBC that it 6-0 to Wigan.
