Today’s Football 2019/20 Season

Disappointed with the result today but it hasn't dented my confidence in Emery and this Arsenal side's prospects this season. Emery came with a plan and it worked for most of the first half, but ultimately Liverpool are just on another level compared to us. We had to take our chances and not gift Liverpool great chances, as they were always going to punish us.

Onto the next one. Beat Spurs next week and I'll be delighted with our start to the season, although I could probably live with a point.

Emery should be sacked just for not starting Lacazette in a game. Him and Aubameyang start every game they are healthy. The other 9 players fit around them. No one even close to their class in that squad.
I love Lacazette but can see why Emery made the call to drop him and go with Pepe and Aubameyang up top instead. We crowded the middle of the pitch which reduced Liverpool to little else but crosses in the first half, and both of our forwards had chances to score. If we go 1-0 up it could have been a much different result.

Ultimately we went down to a Liverpool side who are just better than us; van Dijk is a monster and Salah will punish you every day of the week when you defend like we did for the last two goals. It's the first time in a while that we've come with a plan and actually executed it pretty well for half the game. In the end though individual mistakes cost us.
It just could be more a case of the RS actually being a very good team rather than every other team supposedly rolling over for them.
This, completely. We've rolled over at Anfield plenty of times before but we just lost to the better team today.

Arsenal look shocking tonight, gives us hope that 4th is open this season.
It's our hardest game of the season, half of our defence is missing and we're still bedding in a number of new players. We lost 3-1. This result doesn't make me less confident about finishing in the top four in any way.

That was quite a performance from yourselves today.

Against Sheffield United last week you were so blunt in attack, today you opened up Man United on a few occasions and although they dominated the second half you were worthy of the win - and what a way to get it!

Yeah, nice and very unexpected. We couldn't cope with Sheff. Utd and Wilder had done his homework on how to get around us. United sat and tried to hit us on the break. We are at least as good if not better than anyone in the division at that. Our away record last season spoke volumes. Yes, United dominated possession but didn't have a shot on target until the 57th minute. The odd moment of panic but broadly comfortable, with a lot of credit going to Hodgson who got it spot on today.

This is the bit that says Lacazette should have played. And it isn't as if Pepe was playing as a winger. It was very much 4-4-2 so Lacazette could have been dropped in.

Says it all for me........you are happier taking a point from a team who finished third and keeping credibility with your mates and pass it off you are happy to accept Liverpool are on another level? No wonder with support like yours that Arsenal are seen as soft touches.. if I was a Fam/Blud/Gooner or whatever gangsta nonsense you spout I’d be embarrassed that the £70m centre fireworks you’ve paraded as a statement you mean business can’t finish on his other foot. The answer to your soft centreis David Luiz.......could and probably should have seen red for off the ball nonsense at one corner, had the other Centre Back not scored the simplest of headers for their first, VAR would have given a penalty for Luiz pulling Van Dyck back at the same corner, then the big haired one pulled in the box for the clearest of penalties......and you lads reckon he’s an improvement on Mustafi?

Arsenal are like Delia at Anfield.....happy just to be there and clapping along with all the other tourists with your iPad collection. But it’s alright, there is a big game coming up with Spurs and we might have a go.

And you wonder why it’s gone wrong?
