I thought with VAR now linesmen aren't meant to flag now till a whistle (which confuses me more as the lino is the one making those calls)

Basically that Newc goal is trying to say that referee can somehow look along a defensive line whilst watching the game vertically hmmmmmmm

That's only in the champions league or in other leagues.

The Lino is meant to just do his job in the prem.

The ref ignoring the flag and letting Shelvey shoot is basically saying "I haven't got a clue let's let VAR do my job for me"
