I don't know how important this place is in your life mate, but I can't remember my anniversary with my wife, let alone something that happened on a forum in 2015.

If someone says something you disagree with, let's pick an obvious one like 'Messi is an awful Footballer', you'd disagree, right?

So, when someone says Pellegrini is an awful manager and West Ham are a terrible side with terrible players, I just made the point that I didn't think they were.

It's not like I have a vested interest in West Ham or Pellegrini.

@mikeh72 West Ham have had a poor start but they aren't a poor team, much like us really.

If I'm wrong and they don't end up finishing in the top half and close to European places, then i'll hold my hands up.

You win some you lose some, I remember many on here saying Newcastle were certs to go down at the start of the season - I argued they wouldn't and they are giving a good account of themselves at the minute.

Unpopular opinion: Newcastle aren’t actually THAT terrible a side and are safe as houses this season.

They’ve always got a bad performance in them ala Norwich and today. But they were incredible defensively against Spurs and can be resilient when they need to. Their biggest problem is scoring goals.

They’ve had an awful run of fixtures (Arsenal at home & Spurs, Liverpool and Leicester away in their 1st 7 games) and gave good accounts of themselves against Arsenal and Liverpool, even if they got beat.

They definitely need a bit more going forward but I don’t think they’ll go down.

Very much looking forward to revisiting this.

Mate, I could be wrong here but I believe I’m not Anyone who claims to know anything about football and stating that Messi is an awful footballer, i think it would be fair to say their claims to footy knowledge are about as useful as a trap door on a rowing boat.

West Ham and Pellegrini ? Even a part time follower of the game can correctly comment bang average at the absolute most. A team who yo-yo between The Prem and The Championship and even when in the top league, their average placing is around 12th.

If West Ham don’t have awful players, which on paper it’s not too bad, and Pellegrini isn’t a terrible manager.... how can you explain them having an even worse season than us so far?

Up to roughly 10pm last night, they weren't having a worse season than us.

I think that's too simple an answer and that the problem is far more embedded than just 'remove Silva and we're sound'.

Same with West Ham, if Pellegrini goes, it won't solve the problems they have. Just as Silva leaving hasn't solved ours (again, in my opinion)
