What's pathetic about it? They're calling a moron pundit out for talking absolute nonsense about them on TV. Wouldn't you want Everton to do the same whenever these ex-kopites thrown in their constant digs and condescending crap about us? Not like they've called her names or encouraged others to send her personal abuse, they can't help the fact that a few idiots will obviously do that.

Because she's a woman shouldn't mean she's immune to flak. Equal rights means facing the the same consequences a male pundit would if he spewed the exact same nonsense.
Everyone knows this would happen though. Think their use of the official club Twitter account should be more professional and not about trying to hit back at weak criticism from pundits.

No because we’d look like a bitter little Micky Mouse tinpot club.

Pundits are paid to speak about football and creating controversy is part of their jobs. What she actually had said (when all context was there) was regarding the fact that Leeds had burnt out in previous seasons (which they had) and that maybe the break helped them get over the line.

Pundits aren't paid to create controversy (not officially), they're there to educate the viewer as to what they've just watched. She offered her opinion, her opinion is wildly viewed as nonsense, the target of her opinion has stood for themselves. This "bullying" brigade need to give their heads a wobble.

They done it cos she's a woman, if it was the likes of Danny Murphy they'd have done naff all.

There have been plenty of male pundits who have criticised Leeds this season and they have not specifically called them out on their official Twitter. Players do not tend to pile onto media figures (I.e. Pogba mentioning Souness once after about 5 years of abuse) and club owners DEFINITELY should not be tweeting kicking off on pundits. I would be massively embarrassed if Everton did this, if it was to Souness or Carragher, let alone if they did it knowing that it was going to cause a tonne of misogynistic abuse which I’m very sure Leeds knew.

Don't agree personally mate, honestly think they'd have done it regardless of who the pundit was. It's just in Leeds' DNA to be combative isn't it, always been their way.

The hysteria this has created is purely because she's a lady pundit, where's the "think of the online abuse" when a male pundit gets ripped for a stupid opinion. More people in football should fight back against these pundits, they've got no right to think they can say whatever they want. People ca of course talk wham because they're just clueless, but sometimes the criticism is personal and or grossly incorrect. That's when for me it's fair game.

She gave two opinions

Her first opinion was that she thinks Leeds will burn out at the end of the season if they continue playing their high tempo pressing style. I would say that is a fair comment which most people would probably agree with.

Her other opinion was that if COVID had not happened then Leeds may not have got promoted because they may have eventually burnt out and faltered away into the playoffs and maybe lost in the playoffs or not even qualify for the playoffs. I can see why Leeds may take offence to that. But at the end of the day it’s an opinion and all she said was they may have not got promoted. I don’t think she went over the top with her comment she did not say they definately would not have been promoted or that they were lucky to get promoted because of COVID. In many ways she was trying to play a bit of devils advocate.

She can have whatever opinion she wants to have but if she wants to share it on TV then you have to accept some backlash, even the very best pundits have people come after them when they've spoke nothing but sense as far as the neutral is concerned.

You can't be a pundit who criticises yet expect kid-gloves treatment in return. It's one of the reasons Arsene Wenger apparently turned down a big deal to join Sky after leaving Arsenal, he doesn't like the tone of the punditry. They never just marvel at how great something was or give praise out to outstanding players, the focus is always "he did this wrong" and "as a club they should be doing this" or words to that effect. It's always negative, never positive.

Yes, but football has massive problems with misogyny, this is a fact. Male pundits do not have to put up with comments like “get back in the kitchen” or “make me a sandwich” and don’t tend to get called “a slag”. There is no way that Leeds’ account, players and owner are oblivious to this fact.

The FA have a decision to make here, and quickly. Given the rising number of covid cases uk wide, I would have thought it’s entirely possible the whole season’s going to be abandoned.

So she gets a pass because she's female?

Doesn't sound very equal to me.
