As a football manager then 'No' i don't get it either his approach is far too kamikaze to ever really work over the course of a season. As a football coach i totally get it, his approach to training and recovery and scouting and a lot of that stuff was/is totally unique. He was doing the sports science thing long before a lot of the others were.

Yes that's true but I recall Big Sam being a bit on the forefront of that stuff too. He's an average manager with a few good ideas is what I see, not a genius.
