Manager of the Year...Its a bit of a none award I know but If Pep doesn't get it, I can see the
'Silk purse out of a sows ear' catagory being between 3
Moyes
Ancelotti
Parker...if he pulls it off...which seems likely...maybe.

Mourinho won the title comfortably with Chelsea at least a couple of times, all over well before the end. Didn't get the award despite being the only real candidate.

Tbh it ony brought ridicule to the whole awards process and it's now seen as pretty much worthless, awarded not so much on achievement as popular sentiment.

A bit like when Tottenham's David Ginola won the player's award ahead of the champion's United's Ryan Giggs the overwhelming favourite.

United won with 79 points after a titanic struggle with Wenger's Arsenal with Spurs 11th with 47 points.

Been announced that Joachim Low is stepping down as Germany coach after the Euros, wonder if they’ll sniff around Herr Funboy?
More to the point, would Dr Teeth see this as a suitably convenient and glamorous role in which to further his temporarily faltering career? Here in Germany, Klopp is very well regarded. The DFB would love to have him. Given that he has achieved all there is to achieve in English and European football, I wouldn't underestimate the allure of the national team job. He could legitimately hope to win the World Cup at some point in his tenure. It would be a long-term project with less aggravation and a more likely upside. He's got a big job on at Liverpool now. He didn't manage to arrest the decline at Dortmund and preferred to jump ship. History may very well be repeating itself.

Already ruled himself out.

Already ruled himself out.
Let's see if he rules himself out in the summer when the vacancy remains unfilled (and Liverpool's transfer committee tells him to get back in his box).

He's not going to publicly announce his interest in the role today.

True.

To be fair, the Germans love a good succession plan, so they may already have Hansi Flick lined up on the quiet. And they usually like to act fast, if they can. So the interesting thing will not be whether Klopp rules himself in our out, but if the vacancy is filled soon. If it remains open by May, anything is possible.

Although never given the mountains of cash his successors at United were he took them quite far in the champions league but wasn't ever going to succeed there. I suspect the job too much for him - Moyes is a good manager but nowhere near the very top bracket. Following Sir Alex was hard enough but that team was on it's last legs and needed rebuilding.

Tbh Ferguson performed absolute miracles getting the very last drop from an ageing team well past it's best. United won the title despite really being nowhere near good enough. That last title win was a superb managerial achievement for Sir Alex, his finest ever for me.
Not saying he didn't do a good job his final year. However, Wenger gave Man Utd VanPersie as to them as a retirement gift. That was the miracle. If not the title race is a close 4 team race.

If Flick takes the national team job then Bayern could be a potential destination for Klopp too maybe.

Suited him
Yeah, but makes three out of six. Fact is, he is a very good long-term manager. People always neglect to mention he pulled Sociedad out of a relegation fight as well, as if he was a complete failure there. He had a good first season (beating treble-winning Barcelona) and a poor start got him fired the next season.

Sunderland is the only job that was a complete disaster. He might not have helped things there, but the club was an absolute car crash.
