Ours yesterday (and Palace's vs united) were handballs and would have been last year - they looked deliberate, with the defender facing the opponent and with their hand going to the ball (rather than the ball striking the hand). Obviously they were from really close range, and the defender probably automatically tried to block it, but the effect was the same.
This wasn't, and shouldn't have been given - Dier's back was turned and he was completely unaware of it. It was not a penalty even under the current rules, just as the RS one wasn't.
