In all fairness with the money Spurs have spent this season the least they should expect is to mount a tight title challenge. Spent over 100m and that doesn't take into account the Bale loan fee or his crazy wages, or the price to make the striker Vinicius's loan permanent. Probably spent about 120m this summer. On top of what they already had in the squad, they simply have to finish right up at the top.

what? They haven’t spent anywhere close to that figure have they? Off top of my head £3m for Hojbjerg, £12m Doherty, £30m Reguillon, £3m loan fee for Vinicius and £15m for Bales wages. Oh and £11m for Rodon. Anyone else I’ve missed? The RS have spent more.
