...and Sheffield?...1 point after a quarter of a season?!. What is the record low points total in PL history? Because I would think Sheffield will be challenging for it...

Does the PL perform random drug testing?...as a biochemist/organic chemist of some ability (synthesis-wise), they look juiced to me.

All seriousness...they do have the best nutritionist in football. But I wouldn't be surprised them being borderline what's legal/illegal.

Chelsea used to inject iron drips under Ranieri and Jose.

What baffles me is surely everyone would just copy these fitness programmes?

No way can these nutrionists and fitness technicians keep all this secret these days.

True. But it's how the players adapt or who they bring in that fits that regime. The idea that last season the RS went pretty much unchanged and without any real injuries in the league and Champions League is either great sports science or a bit dodgy IMO.

I'm pretty sure the squad players who barely play like Origi, Kieta, etc for RS don't play due to the fitness levels.

Robertson was feeling his hamstring midweek after the internationals. Can now run up and down for 90mins relentlessly.

They're not like tonight every game though. Plenty of games they plod through. They were hardly running against Villa when they got stuffed. Against City the other week they were shattered in the second half yet City just stood off them.

Klopp runs players into the ground. Half of them injured now and Firmino looks done in. They were up for it tonight.

Klopp writes off the domestic cups every season as well which helps them in the league and Europe. Managers like Mourinho and Guardiola take every competition seriously.

Mentality plays a big part as well like - dont like the bloke but he seems like someone you wouldn't want to get on the wrong side of and I think its that fear factor and his hipster "zaneyness" which has them running through brick walls for him.

The likes of Siggurdsson wouldnt last 5 minutes under him never mind be given the captains armband.

I don’t think nutrition would give them that sort of edge. Its known what best practice is and most clubs around the country have someone that will be putting that into practice. No bitterness but for me they are doing something, as will a lot of the bigger teams around the world though in my opinion. They will all be a step ahead of testing procedures.
