Yes they were pretty much my points too although we have to be careful here as I'm just not sure of what exactly was the context and the question to which Palios gave his answer. Is there a side to it where perhaps it's politically beneficial for Palios to give such an answer?

Isn't he now leading some representative body for the lower leagues were they would be pushing for more spectators to be allowed in? It might be the answer best suited to his campaigning position.

I think thats quite likely at this point. There's very little to be gained from him saying "thats great we will be ok now" when you want money from government and/or the PL.

The stance of football owners is frustrating really. First they were saying they'd go to the wall without any fans, then they are saying up to 4k fans (bear in mind Tranmere average about 6.5k) isn't enough. I mean to be quite blunt, when you are rolling out vaccines, to have mass gatherings of more than 4000 people seems really odd to me. But there we go.

Politically expedient to carry on about how tough things are, no point not doing so.

There's still a good chance it's all academic for now as some suggestions half the country will be in tier 3. While we're on or just below halfway it also goes on hospitals and number of elderly cases too, I don't pretend to know all the details.

A chance we'll be in tier three initially and move to tier two a week or two later

It's hard to know how it will be measured really. I mean if its cases Liverpool is below average now, so you'd think no higher than tier too. I sense there will be a lot of arguments when it kicks in though. Not least from cubs who cant get crowds back in.

I think they've stipulated tier two (best possible tier) would not allow alcohol unless accompanied by a substantial meal - sure pubs and the like could get around this, not so sure grounds could unless they were opening a restaurant or cafe part as opposed to takeaway food.

Probably a non starter with Covid tier two regulations

A pint a half time is basically a takeaway drink plus it would stop people gathering downstairs together and added the ventilation of open air in the stand.

They won't do it but it's the perfect time to do so under the limited crowds

Tbh big grounds with two thousand are neither here nor there, they'll be so sparsely populated you'll have to shout across the pitch to your neighbour, or it'll seem that way.

Beer is alcohol and the rules on its sale are clear - it's not cola and it won't be allowed at any takeaway. Tbh I can see them not bothering with any food or drink - only two thousand there - so you keep costs down.

It's more a thing for non league clubs tbh and possibly league one and two (except apparently Tranmere lol).

With no away fans that should mean less police so less costs, (but a few more lot cheaper stewards for crowd control.)

So it's season tickets and hospitality mainly for our games so if it stays at 4000 until the end of the season which is sensible, we have 15 games left at from starting 12th Dec not including League Cup.

We have roughly just over 30,000 season ticket holders so season ticket holders will be getting to 2 games this season with hospitality and membership scheme filling up the remaining seats.

Those footlong hotdogs at Goodison are pretty substantial.
