Thing is that’s the best they can aim for so do they just bail out of it every time?

West Ham were relegation candidates not so long ago, the progress he's made has been outstanding.

Having no qualifying rounds makes it slightly better but it's still hard to see how West Ham could cope with so many extra games and the arduous travel to far flung places that the Europa often brings.

Thursday Sunday football needs a huge big team squad to cope with it as players are often jaded on the Sunday, big teams like City, United, LIverpool, Chelsea etc can cope but West Ham don't have the numbers.
