So many char utter rubbish.
There’s a lot of excellent female pundits and commentators, but equally a load who are garbage. It’s the bad ones people focus on and not the good ones.
In an ideal world, the likes of Owen, Ferdinand, Carney would be booted into the Stratosphere.
Personally love Sue Smith, think she talks a very good game, and actually a likeable human.
Carney is woeful. But yes there are loads of terrible male and female commentators. Some as they chat absolute crap and some just dont have a great voice or sound dull as dishwater.
Sue Smith seems like a great person and a blue too, im just personally a fan of her commentary.
We all have preferences and favourites but stupid people come along with their narrowminded stupid sweeping statements, showing their complete ignorance like the tool who sparked this one.

If we lived in an ideal world, people would genuinely picked on talent, and talent alone.
I don’t understand why a commentator can’t have personality and intelligence to make it interesting and engaging.
It’s not 1800, it should be on merit.

I was thinking about this before.
While none of us are perfect, Owen comes across as the person you hear at the game who must have been watching a different game due to the rubbish he spouts.
From all accounts, he's always been an odious little bell end as well, so it's as if they've gone down a tick list and thought, 'Hey, he suits what the audience want'.
A) Household name,
B) England international,
C) Minority for being a midget
D) A Kopite!
His understanding and reading of the game, in the sense of a pundit, is so far off it's woeful. You then have the likes of Sutton who are only good at antagonising.
Yes, flair with intonation and tone are part of it - nobody wants a dullard - but first and foremost they need to be able to talk in a way that most fans nod and agree.
Nobody, and I mean even Owen's family, would listen to his words and nod along to the tripe he talks.

UEFA by all accounts, informed the UK bid that they were behind Spain & Portugal over a year ago, long before the fiasco of last summer.
I want a Paraguay, Uruguay, Argentina bid, what a World Cup thag would be.

As I’ve got older I stand up less and less - I’ve found that if I sit down people (Ie wife and kids are more likely to leave me alone) and it’s a small moment of peace before returning to whatever carnage lies beyond the door….
