Weird world we live in, but: PSG just has better creative players up top. I would take Madrid's midfield and back four 100 times out of 100, but this does not matter if you do not concede and brought the goods up top.

Accept your lot lad apparently !!

Time for UEFA to accept they've destroyed football, need as much investment in football as possible and end FFP.

Football has become a billionaires plaything may as well let every club be owned by an uber rich able to bankroll their sides.

Best team in Portugal, good upcoming manager, utterly demolished on their home soil in a last 16 tie. This lot got out of the group ahead of Dortmund as well.

That’s what the fans want to see isn’t I though, City and Liverpool leathering everyone home and away whilst they moan about Newcastle’s money. They’re happy propping up a competition that most clubs including ours can barely even enter, let alone ever hope to win, yet it’s all fine as long as they’re watching someone getting pumped 4 or 5 on a Tuesday night.

The competition is an embarrassment until the quarters or semis most years now. I wouldn’t put it past some joke team fluking into the semis though and then getting obliterated by one of this lot.

Liverpool will destroy Inter tonight and that will be the Italian Champions annihilated just like the Spanish and Portuguese ones.

Lisbon were the champions weren’t they?

There’s not much point having a champions league when in reality most seasons only the following clubs have any chance of winning it

Bayern, City, PSG, Liverpool, Madrid, Chelsea

Some seasons you can add in Barcelona and Juve but they’ve become a bit pathetic now as well.

Sure there’ll be other teams who make semi finals or finals as a one off but they’re just giving the illusion of competition. They don’t win it.

It’s an absolute closed shop with those 6 or 7 teams just dwarfing the rest of European football by absolute miles.

It’s fine for those that support them, and for UEFA, and for the media, but for everyone else it’s a joke.

Problem with football nowadays is just money.

This isn’t isolated. Sporting CP won their league, a respected league at that, and lost 5-0 at home to Manchester City.

Was it 2-3 years ago that Porto suffered the same fate to Liverpool?

I’m sure it may be different if we were in their shoes, but it’s part of the reason why I’m losing my love for “elite” football, to be totally honest. It’s effectively a closed shop.
