32 teams?

Aren't there only 54 teams in UEFA to begin with?
What a massive waste of money. Insane for us to be involved. The FAI had to get a government and Uefa bail out 2 years ago (new regime in place I accept). Our league and clubs are desperately in need of funding and increase in prize money. Grassroots also still desperately in need of attention.

I know the FA and UK Government will be on the hook for the majority of the costs but I can see very little benefit to us outside of a vanity project.

Tourism and ticket sales I guess

I wonder how many grounds in Republic of Ireland will get used?

Maybe some of the big rugby grounds can be used so that games can be held in places like Limerick?

With NI included I'd say it'll just be the Aviva that is used, Thomand at a push but you'd think Glasgow and Edinburgh will have matches, Cardiff as well.
Glasgow has all the bigger stadiums though, is 20k enough for an actual UEFA event? If it isn't - then Ireland is the only other nation that has a bigger stadium, Nor'n Ireland is at ~20k as well.

So basically, all but 5 or so games in England. Sound for everyone, no doubt lol

They could play at Murrayfield no?

Yeah sorry, was thinking Hampden was in Edinburgh for some reason.

N Ireland are part of the bid so Windsor or a redevelop Casement Park maybe? That is supposed to be 35k when finished.

It could certainly be an option, if the SRFU allowed football to be played there.

But Glasgow has 3 ready made, large, football stadiums, and its no problem travelling there from Edinburgh.
Right, I don't think they'll do multiple venues in one city aside from London though. So if they're just playing at Hampden it limits how many games Scotland will get although that same limit probably exists for Wales and Northern Ireland. Actually no idea what they'll do with Northern Ireland.

Windsor Park, thats it. 35000 absolute max after a refurb.

As @dublinbluenose said - Windsor or redevelopments.... maybe?

Bit weird overall tbh. And yeah, how would the fit Scotland as well, as all 3 are in Glasgow.

Obviously, they're gonna redevelop and expand, finally, the Castle Douglas stadium...
