It's interesting (for me, at least) that for all the talk of money being tight from the Super League clubs that so many have gone out and done serious money on positions they didn't need.

Arsenal with White, 100% they took the wrong player from Brighton, should have been in for Bissouma. Man City with Grealish, great player, not convinced he's what they should have prioritised. Man Utd and Sancho, don't see it.

Chelsea got the piece they were missing, Spurs did decent business.

TBF I think Grealish only makes sense as an alternate for KdB, to save him playing too many games (and when they are both in the same side, to prevent teams from doubling up on KdB).

If they get Haaland next summer I don't think anyone is going to beat them for the league anyway.

It's an arms race in a lot of cases. Mahrez was an imperfect fit for City like Grealish is but they figured it out because he's a great player and it is better to have great players than not. Sancho and Grealish in time will most likely work out. Sometimes it doesn't like Depay but it does a lot of the time.

Yeah, all perfectly fair enough, but it's the argument that they all had to scurry off to join this Super League farce but can still dig out the pennies for positions that I don't think were the priority.

I honestly think Haaland is going there and they are going to be tremendously dull, while winning everything in sight.
