Wild that Chelsea and City are essentially opening up a path to United signing him next summer. I've posted this a few times now but I just can't wrap my head around it.

Either that or they've got the inside track that Haaland isn't likely to be available to them.

By that I mean, there seemed to be a noticeable shift from both clubs after those initial meets with the player and his representatives.

They don't. It would take probably 200m this summer. So you wait until next summer instead of spending 100m on a worse and older player in the same position. Chelsea should have simply done nothing. City need someone so they should have tried to do something short term with an older player like Cavani is doing at United. But next summer they've just opened the door to other teams. It's crazy. I think Haaland is a landscape altering player.

He might, but I have a hunch that his agent will have a briefcase full of unmarked non-consecutive reasons to do Madrid.

We'll see, of the prem clubs, where do you see him going?

If there is, and I highly doubt it since his contract isn't up, these other clubs should be going behind closed doors to unarrange it.

Hard to say but I reckon Man City or Man Utd depends on whether Kane leaves spurs and also how each team performs in the league and in Europe this season

That could be. The sense I've gotten is Madrid intend to go hard after Mbappe and while both seems hard it isn't impossible.

I think Chelsea got the second best option in Lukaku anyway, but yeah, Mbappe is a factor in this too.
