Today’s Football 2022/23 Season

When Moyes had us qualifying for European football buying gems for cheap and selling them on for big money I don’t remember many people hailing the model as one that all clubs in the PL should be following.

I just remember a load of moaning about us being a selling club, glass ceiling, didn’t want to be best of the rest, what’s the point of sell to buy if we don’t win anything.

Brighton won’t win a bean and will be back in the bottom half as soon as they make a bad signing, have an injury run, or hire the wrong manager. Just like Leicester, Wolves, Southampton, West Ham.

The Ivan Toney betting case is getting more farcical by the day. Only now, after allowing him to play 21 games this season and score 14 goals, has he needed to give his plea, which is guilty to most charges. His ban is potentially going to be a set period of time rather than number of games, and as it is likely to start towards the end of the season, his 'punishment' will run over the summer break and he'll be back very shortly into the new season. Brentford are a decent team, but without his goals they'd be very close to the relegation zone. Typical.

I think you're looking back at Moyes' time with rose-tinted glasses. We were forced into doing that, as well as selling off our assets, because we were on the verge of going under. It's a bit different to having a joined up recruitment strategy. We just got lucky that Moyes was able to unearth some gems off his own work rather than having a team of people behind him all working towards the same goal.

If he gets binned at WHU he would be a great head scout!

It's a joke, one would argue that any team he's scored against since being charged resulting in points lost would have a case to sue?
Take away his goals and assists and city are top for a start...
