Without boring everyone, Erdogan performed the ceremony at Sukur's first marriage and was courting him for his party. Sukur was connected to an opponent, Gulen, serving as an independent MP but known for his connects to him.

In 2016 a warrant was issued for Sukur's arrest for a twitter post, against Erdogan, he fled the country and tried opening a restaurant in the US. During the world cup a Turkish commentator commented on one of Sukur's records and was fired from his job the next day.

The restaurant thing was interesting, because our NATO chums and all round great bunch of lads were sending some very dodgy people to check Sukur's new joint out.
