Heartbreaking really. I always thought I’d see us win the league, never mind a cup, but now not sure I’ll even see us win a derby again.

I was almost tolerant of City (chiefly because their success has been denying Liverpool titles) but now it's no longer a competition. I already made passing comments on Cucurella, Richarlison and perhaps Gordon being hoovered up by the Top Six (is it 7 now with the surge of the Sordid Arabian backed Toon?) which just means the other dozen are scrapping for points to avoid relegation.

Entertaining it might be but Haaland scoring 6 in less than 90 minutes - Bournemouth shipping 16 in 3 against City, Arsenal and Liverpool.. it's not a contest and never will be without some regard to transfer spending limits (i.e. a set figure and a proportion of income which would partly satisfy the bigger clubs and keep it competitive.

With City (probably) running away with the league we're left with Europe or a Cup competition to provide a modicum of interest or variety. And it's no different in Germany or France.
