Today’s Football - 2024/25 Season

As someone who is more than most likely to accept the decision, the more I look at it the more I think it’s wrong and just simply pressure from the players and they have this wrong. I’ve looked at all these so called slo mo videos and nothing is conclusive.

They need to release the video of what they saw that makes them conclude he touched it cos as everyone has said this the equivalent of Everton V Liverpool and one of ours being ruled. Fair play for the fans for not ripping that stadium apart in protest.

Does stink a bit.
European royalty etc

Absolutely disgusting decision to rule out Alvarez's penalty. Clear and obvious Real Madrid bias you could say. If multiple angles cannot show clear evidence that he touched the ball twice, then it should not be ruled out at all. Filthy. Exactly the sort of thing that would happen in favour of Liverpool in the Premier League tbh
It's over the top knit picking that is ruining the game. Just like goals being ruled out for a heel or a forehead offside. Incidents being forensically investigated needs to stop. If something can't be spotted with the eyes on one or 2 replays just get on with it

This is the problem I reckon, you'll end up with losing sides asking why magnified replays were used against them and then not for them.
Was it on the line of the area? Was it the other defender with the foul? Was he the last man or was there cover? Why didn't the handball get flagged in the build up? The more officious the rules have been allowed to get, the more harm they've done, and like in all of life, these new rules seem no to apply quite the same to the wealthiest like they do to the financially less well off.

This is something i've said before when people claim technology works perfectly in every other sport. I remember a few years ago the West Indies complaining about the 'umpires call' rule in cricket, basically saying that when they were playing England or India the umpires would give marginal decisions differently depending on who was batting or bowling (so an LBW shout against a WI batsman would be given out and umpires call would uphold it, while the exact same shout in reverse would be given not out, with the same result).
