Today’s Football - 2024/25 Season

I thought the keeper did manage to successfully reset himself. Even had time to take a couple of get ready bounces after shoving Silva out of the way.

He also stayed lying flat out on the ground when it went in. If he thought he wasn’t ready, or that Silva was offside, he’d have been straight up and fuming. But he knew he was beaten.

So goal for me.

Having said that, I’m sure I’d be raging if Everton were in Wolves’ position.

My opinion not a goal, he stops the keeper coming out for it, but the wolves are bottom so who cares lol
No.

Silva just stood his ground. It’s not his job to move out of the keeper’s way! Silva wasn’t “offside” until Stones had headed it (as you can’t be offside direct from a corner), by which point he was nowhere near the keeper. If Wolves were so bothered about their keeper being protected, they should have had an outfield player making sure Silva couldn’t get near him.

100% goal every day of the week.

EDIT: basically what @johnjoeefc just said before me 😂

They just said the lino flagged for offside, so the VAR actually sent him to screen to overturn the offside call? Which puts a different perspective on things!

I think he’d given it anyway, irrespective of the flag.

Like yesterday’s Saliba decision it does make you wonder if they are actually asking the refs why they’ve made decisions before intervening.

Yeah I assumed he’d given it, and didn’t see the flag go up myself. Be interesting to see if there’s any footage of that.

Maybe the ref didn’t have a clue and just asked VAR what he should do 😄
