Not a risk given the finances - he has high expectations, if you can't meet them, you're not the winner you want, out you go.

It's a bit different to, say, Tottenham, where anything from 4th to 8th is expected. At City, it's 1st, or 2nd at a push, and given the money they have so it should be.

Outside of Martinez and arguably Rodgers, Pellegrini has been the most underperforming manager this season.

Oh come on, don't let anyone take Brenda's under performing crown please

I honestly think that would be unreasonable after one bad season

It's not a Mancini situation where it's obvious he's lost the dressing room. It's a bad second season. They happen. We should know FFS
how can you have a bad second season with all those world class players they have though

man utd's defence is shocking but look at their position

The situations are not one and the same, therefore applying the logic from one and simply transferring to another is naive.

Citeh undoubtedly need Champions League football (and possibly PL success as well) to balance their heavily uneven financial situation.

When you consider how much they've invested in their squad, to be as lacklustre as they've been just will not be acceptable.

He has already came out and mentioned that they need to spend more significant amount of cash to compete. Do they trust him to do that?

Football in Kendall's day was much simpler; decisions were less knee-jerk or heavily weighted on finance and global image.

Kendall spent before our title defence that season

For the timeframe, Everton spent enough to be considered in contention

We didn't win it, but we were there in the mix

Pellegrini had an excellent season and a below average one this year

To say that's enough to axe him is unreasonable

If they beat United and then finish a strong second, it won't be a good season, but it will leave them in a decent enough position for the next one

To sack him in that situation would be harsh on him I feel and wouldn't have happened in the past

He hasnt just failed in the League tho, theres not a single thing he can point to and say "Yeah, I did well here".
