Airtricity Irish Premier League Latest

Shamrock Rovers 1 Derry City 0 Ronan Finn 60 minutes against the run of play :p

Make that 2-0 Dean Kelly 68 minutes!!!

Pat Fenlon makes instant impact as the new manager!!!

cardiff are an utterly dire football team.

them and stoke have splurged millions and millions over the last 5-6 years to still be defensive minded and only offer a threat from set-pieces. no welshman in their team, boss capital city team (y)

Final Scores in Airtricity PL

Shamrock Rovers 2 Derry City 0
Drogheda United 1 Dundalk 1
Cork City 1 St Patrick's Athletic 0

Top of table now like this with 10 games to play:

P W D L F A GD Pts
1 Dundalk 23 16 5 2 55 19 36 53
2 Cork City 23 15 4 4 36 18 18 49
3 St Pat's A 23 12 7 4 46 25 21 43
4 Shamrock Rv 23 13 4 6 32 22 10 43

Probably too much to expect for Rovers to bridge 10 point gap in 10 games, but at least an EL place is now looking a bit brighter (either by 2nd or 3rd or by winning FAI Cup).

Off to see the Mighty Spurs in a couple of hours. 5.30ko vs Schalke. ITV4.

Cant wait! Block 35 is going to be rocking!

Scenes from Asuncion as huge underdog Nacional hosted San Lorenzo (Buenoes Aires) in the first leg of the Copa Libertadores last night.

Wasn't at the match, but enjoyed it at an Irish pub not far away. San Lorenzo was a much better side, dominated the first half, went up 1-0 around the 65th minute, but Nacional scored a stunner 2:30 in to 3 minutes stoppage time to draw even.

Likely to lose the second leg, but was magic that one moment.

Random locals who spoke no English were hugging speak no Spanish me. Good times.

They can afford ticker tape, but they can't afford not to default again? FFS.

How does that work then? Like ITV choose random friendlies to televise, or is it some weird "tournament" you lot are in?
