spare a thought for plymouth argyle

Monday 21st December 2015, christmas is approaching and the pilgrims are top of league 2 and enjoying life

even at the end of the October they looked like they were going to coast the league 2 title this season

fast forward to May 2015 and they currently occupy 6th spot in the league, they have no chance of getting promoted automatically as top 3 is unreachable with 1 game left and they face the daunting task of playing Portsmouth in the play off semi.

poor plymouth where did it all wrong

almost roberto martinesque capitulation there

hate to pile on the misery...but it's straight to the group stages. Just imagine The Anfield European nights!!*

*searches for bleach*
from the 2014–15 season onwards the winner of the UEFA Europa League also qualifies for the next edition of the UEFA Champions League. The winner enters at least at the play-off round (assuming they do not already qualify through domestic performance), and will enter the group stage if the berth reserved for the Champions League title holders is not used.

Think you're right. Real and Atletico are going to qualify for the CL through their league and don't need the CL winners berth. Horrible.
