This scoreline could get interesting.....worst United team in my lifetime...
Bold claim when you consider some of the starting XIs that Ferguson put out at the very end, and those at time under Moyes and Van Gaal.

Personally, on paper they should be a decent enough team; not world beaters or possibly even guaranteed title challengers but able enough.

For me, the issue is beginning to appear much deeper than simply the supposed calibre of the squad. It almost appears like a mental block.

None of their last three managers have appeared able to revitalise their players to actually play attractive and successful football.

On paper this team has a lot of hype....Ibrahimivic has arrived too late in his career (poor signing for me), and Pogba is the most overrated player ever.....Fellaini is average at best, players like Smalling shouldn't even be making the United bench...

I agree Ferguson's final team was a shell of what they had over the years....but each season since I think they've slowly declined further...and have also lost the fear they held over other clubs....

How's things Fox? League not up to scratch but I'm thoroughly enjoying your run in the CL, would love to see you get far
No all this media coverage on performance enhancing drugs has really shot us in the foot mate lol

Frustrated with our league form but still living the dream tbh. Managed to get to Brugge away which was incredible. Never thought I'd follow my team in the CL

I totally agree with that point, however personally I think a large part of their decline is in the form of some debilitating mentality they now have.

They're not winners any more although everyone, due to their history, expects them to be on a regular basis and it acts like a barrier.

And they simply seem unable to overcome that! Your right their players aren't as good as they once were, but they are still good players.

And good players should be able to perform better than they regularly have done for the last four years or so.

Was always going to be difficult to keep that level up though, especially with Kante leaving and the likes of Morgan entering his twilight. I still think you're a far better team than most and should expect to finish comfortably top 7. Who knows how far you could go in the CL?

Exactly right. I don't think we'll get top 7 tbh, maybe top 10. The CL draw was favourable to us to be fair but we've still done really well.Wouldn't fancy us against Barca or Bayern but after last season who knows?!

Agree about the mentality issue, also think it applies to their opposition - rival teams no longer go into a match, even at Old Trafford, thinking they are bound to lose so heads don't go down as much if they fall behind early.
