The thing is Liverpool don't have to be better than city or Chelsea..... The media hype machine is already going into overdrive, and other teams will be more afraid to play against RS than City/Chelsea.....and then there's referees

RS not gave them a sniff this first half, snapping after them every second. We let these crap sides settle into games and let them have possession. After awhile they start thinking "Aye up these lot aren't at the races we can get something here".

Also half of these lower sides (including us I am sad to say) are beaten before they start...fear is the key!!

Koeman was supposed to bring a higher pressure game to Everton. I hated how we just didn't press at all under Martinez and hoped it would be different when Koeman arrived but it seems like nothing has changed.

We need to be on their heels every second of the game but for whatever reason, we're not.

Bunch of bang average players outperforming the opposition week in week out, including away wins at Arsenal
and Chelsea.

Match fixing or doping perhaps?

This magic drug called 'hard work'. Everytime bournmouth get the ball, there are 2-3 players at him and inveriably they win the ball - its not rocket science really. Yes they have a bit of quality in Coutinho, Firmino and Mane but the key is to win the ball as high up the field as possible so that they are close to the opposition goal.

It’s only one pass away from a really good opportunity. No playmaker in the world can be as good as a good counter pressing situation. That shows why it’s so important.”

Yet we have Rom, Ross, Geri, Mirallas etc who cant be bothered to break into a jog.

If they keep picking up points while Coutinho is out and before they can reinforce in January they are well in the shake up. Still think they'll struggle to win the title but a CL place is defo on.

We're one of the longest serving top flight teams and scrap like these and Burnley are turning us over. Everyone at the club should be embarrassed.

Yeah basically this. The opposition can't score if you don't give them a chance, which is why the rs should have such an awful defence but don't. Their defenders aren't anything special but they have 10 men in front of their keeper pressing as soon as they lose the ball so it doesn't matter about the individual quality of their players.

Our players need to be told to put in a shift or they will be moved on. Which could explain why so many of them look like they're not bothered; they've been told this and they're throwing a strop. Maybe.

There was a time when I'd fume that the RS would even make the Top 4 but I think for a club like them being in or out of it doesn't make that much difference.

It would if they missed out on it for 5 years running but unfortunately in between the odd meh season here and there they will always be on the fringes at the very least.

Winning the title would be the ultimate horror, I would have to impose a media and online blackout for months, but work would be very difficult.

Man City might spend some more in January, and Conte is a superb coach, so let's hope between them they can fix this problem.
