If we (Turkey) win the last 2 games, (Iceland home & Finland away) i believe we can even finish at the top spot because Ukraine away game for Croatia will be a tough one.

this group is by far the most competitive group out there, anything can happen after a single round of matches!

Iceland performing miracles again. What an achievement it'd be if they got to another major finals.
 

I have mixed feeling about the Ireland match.Im disappointed they lost but i absolutely detest Martin O'Neill.I don't rate him as a player.I don't rate him as a manager and i don't rate him as a person.If Ireland failing to qualify will force O'Neill out, then that will a case of small mercies.It's hard to put a finger on what i dislike about him.I just find the man to be a sneery snide weasel.

I know FIFA are determined to be apolitical, but surely they should impose a sanction on Iran for stuff like this? Make them play their next two home games behind closed doors as punishment or something?

They'll consider sanctioning Ali for flipping off his mate, but they'll let Iran ban women from watching the national side?

Their priorities seem out of whack to me personally

All countries that do that should be sanctioned. So the likes of Saudi Arabia too, who seem to get away with these things without getting called out like Iran do.
 
Been watching some of the RTE punditry on YouTube following the last qualifiers

Dunphy has never met an Ireland manager that he hasn't liked sticking the knife into has he?

The man's like clockwork. Outrageous

And I say this every international break, but if baffles me how every pundit and journalists answer to Ireland's problems ultimately boils down to "We should play Wes Hoolahan, that'll fix things"

Yeah, the bloke playing for Norwich in the Championship is really going to be the difference maker

I think the fact that

A) Two Ireland managers in a row have decided not to give him a consistent run in the side

And

B) The fact that he's still toiling in Norfolk with no Premiership interest seemingly at all

Would suggest that he's in fact NOT the answer

Time to put that one to bed I think, especially as he played against Serbia anyway and didn't really deliver anything special

It's become an unwarranted stick to beat Ireland managers with now and I'm sure the next incumbent will have to deal with it as well
