Yeah, mahrez smacks me as a player who would have pulled his socks up and got us out of this mess whilst everyone else can't be bothered.
he's a bit of a belter, but he has pace, more skill and vision and can occupy a wing as well as the center, he's a massive risk, that's why he is still at Leicester, I guess the greater point is the one we all know, after signing rooney and klassen, blowing the rest of our budget on siggy was not what we needed

“The guide will advise gay people to be cautious in any place which is not seen to be welcoming to the LGBT community. The same message is there for black and ethnic minority fans – do go to the World Cup but be cautious. If you have gay fans walking down the street holding hands, will they face danger in doing so – that depends on which city they are in and the time of day."

siggy and rooney was the fine part imo, especially with rooney being "free", the problem was buying klaassen, hence why he barely gets into the squad. If we got in an actual striker, i highly doubt we'd be moaning about how ineffective siggurdsson was. Anyway, there's a 101 issues from this summer, so there's no point in pinpointing one or two.

Thoughts on the Allardyce move, Alan?
1. Palace get £2m. I bet he's made Everton pay that.
2. He is a much better manager than most give him credit for and he'll stop the rot.
3. By all accounts Sammy Lee did a great job as his number two whilst at Palace, popular and respected by the players.

Having said all that;
Not a long term appointment so Moshri and Kenwright need to be planning for a successor now. Everton should not be a "stopping the rot" club.
Everton should not be employing Lee. Anywhere else, ok, but not Everton. I get that so I have no idea what the board are thinking.
Get through this season with a clear view of who you want to appoint and get him sounded out now.
You'll finish top half easily.
Everton that.
