You'll get VARRED if you have utter dung refs. Which I suspect might be all of them.

Never a pen. Disliking a defender turning his back is mute.

The point is that it's unnatural to not be looking where the ball is. I wish we just stuck by the letter of the law and cut out 90% of these decisions by only calling clear and obvious deliberate ones as pens on defenders, and anything which gains an advantage as a handball by an attacker.

But the referees clearly aren't going to down that route so defenders are going to have to adapt and be ultra careful. The first year will be messy with this VAR. I'm not a fan.

I think the fact there's so much debate here only proves why VAR isn't going to be a catch all cure for penalty decisions

However, what it will help with massively is things like offside's and whether the ball was out of play or not. These are things which are black or white calls. A penalty sometimes isn't

I said this at the time however when it was announced. People will pounce on every "wrong" penalty decision though as a reason to knock it though

He got very little out of a reasonably talented Dortmund side and now is doing the minimum with PSG. I just don't think he's very good at setting up a team. And then you have him leaving Cavani on the bench until the 95th minute.

I'll admit I don't follow him that closely but never challenging for the league at Dortmund then coming to PSG and struggling in the group before being dumped in the round of 16 is poor. Yet people rate him as top class.

I always thought his rep was that he was a very promising manager who could be top class in time?

Its designed to clear up clear and obvious errors. How on earth was that clear and obvious tonight?

It all boiled down to a ref thinking he is the superstar
