Today's Football 2018-19 Season

my main worry is that they seem to always do well against the big clubs, city will bottle it against them as they always do and we'll be left hoping Liverpool choke against the smaller sides which in previous years would have been quite likely but this season seems less likely.

Do you have faith in City going to Anfield and not bottling it? I don’t think the RS will drop many points this season. Have a feeling it may come down to the 2 games between them.

I thought at the end of this week that they’d have been through in the cup, 5 ahead of Chelsea and going into the City game with a chance to go 5 ahead of them. Instead they’re out the cup and the maximum they will be can be 3 ahead of them which is nothing especially if Chelsea win. They’re supposedly on this record run and the competition isn’t falling away even though City’s best player is out. Yeah it’s annoying that Sturridge a player didn’t even want rescued them with a worldie but if you’d asked any kopite before the game would they take a draw they’d say no. Their main competition is City and this weekend City have gained 2 on them.

That'll feel like a win for them. City will 100% bottle it against Liverpool.

The positive is that Salah looks increasingly like a one season wonder. An injury to one of Mane or Firmino would finish their title challenge I think, whilst City can absorb injuries to the likes of De Bruyne and still beat the fodder of this league at a canter.

I still honestly think Liverpool are favourites for the title though. Not objectively, as that would be City, but I just have a horrible feeling about the way this is shaping up and I simply don't trust City to do what they should do and win the league by about 10-15 points.

If Kovacic is tired then maybe thats why he's subbed. But if Fabregas is on the bench he has to come on before Barkley. Keep the ball!!

Could've asked him to spring counters. Which he did twice. One didn't make it to Hazard and they scored (was a wonder strike though).

End of the day Sarri likes him a lot so he'll keep playing him and they're not exactly looking pap

Every single thing has gone their way at the start of this season and they’re in second and out of the cup. Meltdown if you want but if I was them I’d be worried that City haven’t blinked and De Bruyne is back fit.

City have been pretty lucky that De Bruyne being out has matched up with them playing Fulham, Brighton, Huddersfield, Cardiff, Newcastle and Oxford. They are still by far the best side in the league but I don't think you could cherry pick an easier start. What will be interesting for City is how they react in midweek, Hoffenheim away is a pretty tough game. They lose that and the Champions League could end up off the table rather early.
