It all hardly matters, its a one team league until there's a little more of a level playing field.
It's a little bit of a novelty in the early stages seeing Celtic so low, but they are competing on such an uneven playing field where they have all the advantages and their opponents few, that the end result is inevitable.
Gerrard is making a real go of Europe, whereas Rodgers' Celtic have been perennial underperformers, even Neill Lennon's Celtic side got some notable results with far fewer resources. Rodgers side have been beaten seven by Barca and extremely heavily by others too, their defeat to the lesser side Salzburg could and perhaps should have been embarrassing too.
The Scottish league is a joke but Gerrard looks likely to give Rangers every chance of contesting second, and if they continue their success in Europe through to the knockout stage, it will have been a very creditable and commendable effort.
