Scholes 'resigned by text' - Oldham owner
Oldham owner Abdallah Lemsagam has issued a statement to say that he is "disappointed" by Paul Scholes' decision to resign from the club and "surprised by the reasons" that the former Manchester United midfielder has given.
He also confirmed that Scholes resigned by text.
He added: "I have been in Dubai over the last couple of weeks and actually at ease knowing that he was in charge. I was very surprised as he simply resigned by text on Wednesday afternoon and has refused to discuss matters that influenced him to make his decision."


so the owner was away for two of those four weeks and scholesy still found it too hard. ah didums. It's his first job ffs, what does he expect, everything to be neatly laid out for him perfect, teams to roll over for him easily and then within a year he'll be offered the united job?

Youngsters start out as apprentices in their first jobs, some are assistants having to do everyone's dirty work. It's not plain sailing, you've got to actually fight through the bad things. He could have tried a bit harder to get his point across that he should have been naming the team, at least waited for a few months of bad results before making the owner realise that they're doing badly because of him sticking his nose in, if that was the case.

Just screams of someone who's played at the highest level all his life and doesn't like that he's having to go to the lower leagues to prove himself and then has just given up so easily at the first sign of trouble. He gave up on his country early enough because everything there wasn't plain sailing. He won't get anywhere if he keeps quitting so easily. Thought scholes would have had a bit more fight than that tbh.
