I don't think Southgate would make it as a manager of a PL team due to lack of tactical nous. What I do like about him as the England manager is the opportunities he gives to a vast array of players. He is not like recent managers who just stuck with so called tried and trusted favourites. Doesn't just use a pool from Man Utd, Man City, Chelsea, spurs and Liverpool that have failed us for many a year. As England manager he does have the choice of the best players but unlike most of his predecessors he is not swayed and insistent of picking players just from the top teams only exclusively.

Pickford supplying saves regular enables part of this attitude. Is a bit unlucky to have a wealth of talent in one area and be so short elsewhere.
 

Didnt watch but from the comments on here, sounds very much like watching Everton.

Brazil lost to Cameroon in the group stages at the last World Cup ….

The same Cameroon that got knocked out of the AFCON this year in the round of 16

Gone are the days of roberto Carlos, ronaldo, Pele, zico, Ronaldinho and Romario

Southgate is the greatest manager in the world at isolating his best players, it’s unfathomable to me how he consistently does this to Kane, Foden, Saka, Maddison, Grealish yet has ploppers like Philips, Gallagher, Henderson having far more of the ball than the players who are all on a different planet to them. England have the best players at the Euros barring Mbappe yet he still sets the team up with all eyes on protecting his lovechild weakest link at centre back. He’s abysmal.
 

Half time is the worst thing for this England team, because it means that idiot gets to talk to them. Seen it countless times, team comes out after half time and suddenly looks absolutely terrified to leave its own half or attempt to play forwards. He’ll be the actual worst manager in the entire tournament, this team deserves better.
