I don't think Southgate would make it as a manager of a PL team due to lack of tactical nous. What I do like about him as the England manager is the opportunities he gives to a vast array of players. He is not like recent managers who just stuck with so called tried and trusted favourites. Doesn't just use a pool from Man Utd, Man City, Chelsea, spurs and Liverpool that have failed us for many a year. As England manager he does have the choice of the best players but unlike most of his predecessors he is not swayed and insistent of picking players just from the top teams only exclusively.
