Wayne Rooney: David Moyes tips striker to be Man Utd great

'Manchester United boss David Moyes told striker Wayne Rooney he could become one of the club's "real greats" as he tried to persuade him to stay at Old Trafford during the transfer window. "Wayne Rooney could join the real greats with his goal-scoring," added Moyes.'

What an accolade. I'm sure Rooney's chuffed to get that compliment off a man who's done **** all himself.

After 3 CL finals, countless league titles and cups and a good chance he'll be all time top scorer in both pretty soon all he needed was Moyes recognition to make it real.

He must have been in a daze after the Moyesiah handed him that incentive. A man with three League Manager of the year titles bestowing a compliment like that must have made him a bit giddy.

It's fair to say he'll have skipped into training today like.

I bet Rooney and his family said exactly what we're saying now when they heard that.

Moyes comments where interesting too. He got asked if wayne was happier? or something along those lines. 'I don't know' he's working hard etc, etc. They clearly don't speak.

I think it's fair to say that phrase about not pissing on someone if they were on fire applies to those two. They loathe each other. Does Moyes really think he can take someone to court and then have a professional relationship with them?

And for all the stuff written about Rooney's departure I believe him 100% when he claimed that Moyes offered him the chance to sign for Liverpool. His failure to address the Derby in any way underlines how little he understood this club.

Moyes isn't passionate about football. He might enjoy the game, love being a manager and making decisions, having his ego stroked, but he's missing that fire. He hates that Rooney can see right through him.

Goes as far back as him snubbing Arsenal and you can see that.

Players like Rooney, Ferguson and those types have got it and he can't understand them or relate to them. For him it's just a business and the only factor in any decision is this 'Is it good for you' respect for a club, romance, deeper ties and everything else go over his head.

I agree about the shiite. Looking back now I still can't believe he sent a scratch side out for a merseyside derby and then defended it.

So many people have had personal and legal stuff happen and have still managed to put it aside and work in a professional environment

If Rooney and Moyes care enough, they can make it work

Look at Tito Ortiz and Dana White for God's sake!

They hate, and I mean HATED, each other, but they still got around a table and did business together

It can happen

I agree it can happen. Just not an ideal situation.

Difference is there isn't a lot of other people for either to do business with where they can make similar money out of the deal. Rooney can play for any club about on this form.

Fellaini claims Manchester United training is harder than at Everton

But the big-haired Belgium international has admitted he is struggling to adjust to life at Old Trafford, citing the 'intensity' of training as much greater than he was used to at Everton.

"I have a problem with the intensity of the training because I am playing with big players," conceded Fellaini.

"Training is quicker and the quality is better than at Everton but I'm happy. I like the game and I like to play."

Fellaini believes he can still become a great at United despite finding Moyes' sessions at Carrington tougher than he was used to under the Scot at Finch Farm.
