TJ - I mentioned a bet in UG when he got the job.. I'd panic if he got sacked - Man Utd to win no major trophy in next two years..

yeah see, i'd worry about that ha, or does the league cup not count as major? i can honestly see them winning the league cup this year and moyes will keep referencing it.

Moyes was actually never a good enough manager for Everton, let alone Manchester United in the current day.

What Moyes is and always will be is a phenomenal Director of Football who has an eye for talent, but he's never been able to use the talent he brings in effectively and/or consistently.

The problem at United is that his actual tactical limitation are thrown into sharp contrast because he cannot rely on his wheeler dealing alone to build his rep.

That he is failing at United isn't the surprise; the fact he got the job in the first place is.
Good post

He was very good for us for years. He proably stayed 2 seasons too long but no one should forget where we were when he joined and where we are now.

Don't get me wrong he has proved himslef to be an utter bellend but let's not re-write history

remember when moyes was furious with spurs for tapping up pienaar and then said that sometimes the grass isn't greener on the other side.....

....well..

only, this time we don't want you back!

I speak to Bill regularly, we speak most weeks. He was great for me and, hopefully, he would think that I’d done a good job for him as well and Everton. There’s no way there is any disrespect whatsoever.

The bid from Manchester United’s point of view was a private thing and, if and when we make a new offer, we would keep that offer private and confidential as well. It wasn’t our choice [to make it public] – that’s up to them. You need to ask them that question.

The thing I have to get in here is that Everton are the club I have just left. They are a great club, I respect them greatly. Of course, taking a player is going to affect them, but I’m doing what I have to do in my job.

This is just a case where we’ve made an offer, we didn’t make it public to anybody, so we will try and answer the questions as best we can.

The transfer window is open and we are allowed to make bids and clubs can say ‘Yes or no.’ It’s as simple as that. That’s what it is.

But I also know that if I’d been Everton manager and Sir Alex had come asking for Leighton Baines and Marouane Fellaini, I’d have found it very difficult to keep them because I always felt the right thing to do was what was right for the players.

Roberto is in a new job and I’m sure he’ll get to understand how Everton work

I know exactly how they work. I think I’ve signed every player at Everton so I know a lot about them. All we can do is do our job here. They [Baines and Fellaini] are both excellent players.

thats the level of the man there.

he will take our players if he has any sniff of a chance. and he wouldn't give a stuff about any consequences to Everton either

If managers start talking about players registered with other clubs that's the end of the whole thing.

I think everyone should look after their own things internally. I'm sure they've got many issues in the same manner.

I could easily come out and give my opinion about his players, but I think I'll be a bit more respectful than that.

Internally, we are working every day with real competition for places and just focusing on getting stronger as a team and making sure we can perform as well as we can.

in case anyone is wondering what this is all about

One of the most despicable utterances from a former manager of any club who hadn't been ousted from his post.

He'll never be forgiven for that, and rightly so.

Besides the game against Bayer Leverkusen, United still haven't scored from open play since the first day of the season.

They've got a reasonable run of games now though.

Shakhtar (A)
Sunderland (A)
Southampton (H)
Sociedad (H)
Stoke (H)
Norwich (A)
Fulham (A)
Sociedad (A)

They've then got Arsenal (H), Spurs (A) and Everton (H) in the space of a few weeks.

Moyes has inherited a Premier League-winning squad. Evra, Ferdinand, Vidic, Carrick and Van Persie are all 30-something but they don't need replacing immediately, so he can't really use that as an excuse. Defence is surprisingly an issue and they're short on creativity. I'm not quite sure on the logic of easing Fellaini in either.

I can't see United panicking and I think he'll turn it round anyway. It's quite nice that they're suddenly fallible though.

Look no need to get upset, he is gone and is now under intense pressure at his new club. We can sit back and enjoy it. We have a good chance ( if he stays in the job ) of finishing above them this season as they look a team with serious problems at present.
