Today's football.

I'm pretty sure in Brazil they have a weird setup as well. I'm sure the first half of the season is where they play lower league teams which lets them play youngsters and give them experience. I may be horribly wrong though.

Well if Everton, Chelsea, City, United, Spurs, Swansea, Arsenal, Liverpool and all teams who play decent football have a B team they will learn a lot more playing the likes of these teams than playing in an U21 league. Are you thick?

Chesterfield don't deserve to get promoted if they are this bad.

Insults, a sign of somebody who doesn't quite have enough to continue their own argument.

As a lower league/non league fan what you propose is ridiculous. We have a great history in this country and one of the best and deep league systems in the world. It is not there for the surplus multi millionaires to use it as their own playground.

It has no potential to help the national side considering how the rich clubs use their own first team.

I could argue all night mate. We do have one of the best but we also have a turd National team. Can you imagine England developing the likes of Sergi Roberto, Muniain, Deulofeu, Jese and Ruben Pardo?

With the right coaching from young ages, allowing them to play together from similar ages, most probably.

I don't even follow England but a HUGE shift in coaching is needed. Plus too many English players won't move abroad.

Do you think they would learn the same?

'Learn the same'. Don't get you?

It probably would produce better players, but as I'm NEA about England I'd rather see proper football clubs like Portsmouth being at the heart of the community like they have been for hundreds of years rather than relegated and made less important than a load of 18 year olds.

Erm, if they win the league then of course they deserve promotion. Not every game is going to be a pulsating affair, especially at that level. I've seen my fair share of reserve/U21 matches between the big teams down the years in which the quality has been distinctly lacking too.

I don't understand how you think the B teams playing against these 'atrocious' sides as you call them is going to help young players develop?

Understand what you're saying. I'm the same, I'm NEA about England but I would be if they played decent footy and they had the players I mentioned above.

They wouldn't get relegated if they were good enough.

I agree. Coaches here are awful as well as scouts IMO. My mate played for City, United. Played with the likes of Ravel Morrison and that reece Wabara. Had loads of ability but got released because he was too small. I don't understand how you would produce good coaches though myself.

If they went into the championship, are you telling me they wouldn't learn more playing Leeds, Millwall away? Come on Danny lid.

I would say it is getting better but it takes a lot of work at club level and through the FA grass roots systems.

What we need is more focus on clubs developing academies at all levels, you look at Southampton and they have some superb players coming through the ranks.

You say have rules, that is fair enough but do you think the rules will be there to suit English football or to suit the big clubs. The problem is not with individuals it is with the FA pandering to the rich clubs and this will not stop with the development of 'B' teams.

The FA need to help the lower level clubs not hinder them by sticking another 20 teams in the league system.

Plus we have some players that certainly have potential. Tom Ince, Stones, Barkley, Wilshere (thats right I said it), Shaw, Chambers, Lallana, Zaha, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Berahino, Will Hughes.

All with a lot of potential and it is about getting the best of them through the right coaching but not at the expense of clubs but using those clubs.
