decent half that, if either team could defend it'd still be 0-0 though.

can't believe spurs spent so much money on all these playmakers, yet it's purely eriksen who creates all their chances.

there isn't a rule - that's why i think this offside rule is [Poor language removed]. i seem to be making the same point every weekend, because every weekend it happens. seriously don't undertsand what was wrong with the the original offside rule of being in an offside position when the ball was kicked forward, is offside. it was simple to understand and it was a rule.

now it's another bloody interpretation.

No, There is a rule. I can't be bothered to look it up but from memory i believe if you are in an offside position when the ball is played and attempt to play the ball yourself, you are offside.

If you are in an offside position when the ball is played but a teammate who is onside attempts to play it, that is fine.

If you are in an offside postion and obstruct the gaolkeeper despite not touching the ball, you are offside.

If you in an offside position when the ball is played, but come back to an onside position and then play the ball, you are offside.

That last one can cause some confusion but other than its pretty straight forward really, and was bought in because of ridiculous situations where a team would score but because a player was offside but nowhere near the play it was disallowed, ie someone scores a 30 yard screamer in the middle of the pitch but cause a player is offside near the touchline it would have been disalowed.

shouldn't be standing there in my opinion ha. i just think they could have kept that rule and just used common sense tbh. obviously if two centre backs pass to eachother and a striker's in an offside position, wave it on. i just don't like this whole interpretation thing. i mean if you smack it down the right wing, but the striker is offside in the centre, he's still interfering with play because the centre back has to follow his run.

if you're a centre back, you're stepping up to play him offside which he is, the ball just hasn't gone in his direction, but he's got a 5 yard advantage on you now and is running towards goal. The winger squares the ball to the striker who is now not offside but has had that free run because he was originally offside and gets a tap in.

it's all interpretation at the moment of what constitutes second phase etc.
