David: Giggsy looks comfortable as manager, the players are reacting to him. Personally I'd be happy to give him at least a season.

hahahahaha applauds. they looked clueless before being gifted a pen and then norwich (the team who could possibly finish bottom) gave up.

If a penalty is awarded or a sending off issued then have a video referee check the decision is correct. Wouldn't slow the game down as there's always a delay in play when those things happen anyway and would stop teams conceding or being handicapped unfairly.

That would be incredibly easy to implement and improve fairness massively.

yeah i understand that part, but what if the ref doesn't think it's a pen and is happy to play on, he can't just blow up in case he made a mistake? what do you do then, play on with a drop ball in the penalty area? wait for the next stoppage and go back to it? or just continue the game as if he got it right and then have everyone moan after that video could have been used, but wasn't?

If the official on the pitch doesn't award anything then play on, simple.

It's impossible to have every single decision officiated by a third party and it would also be pointless. What i suggested would improve it a lot with very little sacrifice in terms of entertainment value.

So if the ref on the pitch is biased and gives decisions in a certain teams favour why do you think a ref in the stand with a video is gonna be any different?

If its for mistakes then it may well improve if a ref is 100% wrong on the pitch but for contentious decisions there's no guarantee a video ref won't judge a decision in favour of one team leaving the other teams fans fuming.

There would be less incorrect decisions given if replays from multiple angles were available. That's all that matters.

Norwich will still be tough for Arsenal to beat last game. If we could have got a draw today it could have made all the difference.

You're not playing well/suffer an outrageous goal or two? Deal with it and grind out a scruffy draw. I thought we felt like a win only was acceptable there today and heads dropped when that task got harder by going behind early.

And you think that happens now when a studio full of pundits pore over every angle and still cant decide? What makes you think a ref in the stand will get it right? It's down to yet another person's interpretation, not a fact waiting to be discovered.

Sometimes officials clearly get it wrong because they make a decision in a split second without the chance of seeing the incident multiple times. A video system would cut down on those game changing mistakes. That's all that matters.

There's absolutely no way Jack Rodwell would have had his red card against Suarez upheld had a referee in the stands been given the final say, as everybody in the world except Martin Atkinson knew it wasn't a red upon seeing it again.

If its done right, if refs on the pitch use it as an aid to help them do their job.

It wouldn't be the miracle cure to calls that go against you that some fans think it will.

A ref with a video could have watched the Osman/Wellbeck penalty incident today 6 times and agreed with the match ref.

You're arguing against a stance i've never taken though. Didn't say it would cure all problems with officiating.

Another example would be the second yellow card given to Pienaar away at QPR last season. Upon second look it was blatantly obvious that he never touched the player he was accused of fouling. Any video ref seeing that would have overruled it and rightly so.

Yeah they do. But that still doesn't stop fans whinging and calling them [Poor language removed] at their jobs when they do.

I know thats not your point though. Technology will help but will not be the cure some think it will.

Martin Tyler's commentary was astonishing. I am amazed we were able to hear him at all, given that his head spent the 90+ minutes wedged up Giggs' backside.

Gary Neville was clearly embarrassed with some of the anti-Moyes snarkiness. GN is by far the most classy and dignified of all the pundits. Not saying much really. Redknapp - the man with TWO beards...

Dont talk daft mate. The ref in the stand would likely have backed that up by agreeing he'd gone in studs up.

It'd have to be the most spectacular of gaffes for any reversal of a decision...which doesn't happen that often to warrant the change.

Utter nonsense.

Rodwell's leading boot was pointed downwards and it never even touched Suarez, it was his knee that made the slight contact.
